Trawlermen never complain about mozzies. So try that sort of fishing instead.

Jack Flash has it bang on. Ive tried the lot.

Re: Mosquitoes arghhhh...
There is only one thing that I have found works & it really does work too:

"Skin so Soft" by Avon (you can get it of an Avon rep if you know one or off Amazon)

I live in an area where midges are a problem & often used to visit the swamps of Trinidad & Tobago and of Venezuela

I found all known recognised insect repellants to be totally ineffective (Extra strong Jungle formula etc)

Skin so Soft is not designed or marketted as an insect repellant but it really works

Effective against midges, mosquitos, horse flies (what we call clegs) & no-see-ums (as the Americans call them)

They've got these little joss stick things they light up that smoulder here in Greece. They stick them under tables, seem to work but not seen them elsewhere.

Save your bait money and move away from the swamp. No mosquitoes up where I live.

The greatest mosquito fighting device in the world is the tennis racquet shaped battery powered zappers. Never has such joy been enjoyed in the pursuit of killing an unsuspecting insect*.

I'm not really bothered about them when I'm out, but hate seeing them in the house and especially the bedroom.

Re: Mosquitoes arghhhh...
You can buy patches here that keep them away , not sure about UK

Citrus keeps them away as well , oil if you can get or just squeeze a lemon on exposed parts

Like most parasites they are particularly prevalent in hot weather with good levels of humidity/water.

Try fishing away from sources of water, you will be fine.

The Blandford fly is the one to worry about this year, my part of the world is absoultely alive with them.

But if he kills himself then it will attract the flies

Dilemma.......

Eat garlic & smoke Galois.

That in itself is not deterrent but appearing, if not actually being, French is the strongest repellent ever discovered in nature.

They are attracted by the carbon dioxide in your breath - stop breathing.
